Psychological Counselling · Stuttgart

For people who think faster and feel more deeply, but rarely find a space that fits.

Welcome to the website of my counselling practice for gifted and highly gifted adults. Here you won't find quick answers. But a place for precise questions and dialogue on equal footing.

You might have noticed that many counselling services either reach for answers that are too simple or explain too much, and rarely get to the actual core of your concern. Leaving a session feeling frustrated can be part of the process, but it shouldn't be the norm.

In my counselling work, I try to avoid this. Through a focus on clarity and depth, and equally on cognitive, emotional and somatic involvement, we explore your individual inner map together.

Because the quality of experience in gifted and highly gifted people is rarely one-dimensional, but at least multi-dimensional, if not fully multidimensional, we include all of these levels, each of which can represent both quality and potential as well as challenge, in our research.

This can at times take on highly complex forms that are often not easy to place or decode. But when your own system receives the resources, time, attention and support it needs, this inner complexity can reorganise and integrate in a lasting way.

This is especially essential for people with additional neurodivergences, such as

  • ADHD
  • ASD
  • AuDHD (co-occurring ADHD and autism spectrum traits)
  • Dyslexia and dyscalculia
  • Synaesthesia

as well as for those with a chronically dysregulated nervous system and/or a trauma history, it is essential to include the whole inner structure and to develop a system that is guided by your own inner rules and nature.

01

Couple Relationships

When closeness fails because of differences in thinking and processing speed and/or experienced emotional loneliness, and not because of an actual lack of affection.

I offer support for couples in which at least one partner is gifted or highly gifted.

My fundamental assumption is that every person is right exactly as they are.

From my perspective, it is therefore not about wanting to change anything or anyone, but about creating and cultivating, together, a level of communication on which both partners feel seen, welcome and respected.

02

Burnout & Exhaustion

Years of adapting to structures that never fit can take their toll.

This is often recognised very late, or too late, because compensation worked very well for a long time, until it no longer does.

In my experience, exhaustion in gifted and highly gifted people often originates in the enormous resources it takes to adapt the speed of a high-speed train to the rail network of a local tram.

Running at full speed on the inside while constantly holding the handbrake on the outside can lead, alongside chronic exhaustion, to profound self-doubt, guilt and mistrust of your own perception. Depression, as well as dissociative and avoidant states, can often be accompanying symptoms of an underlying inner ambivalence between the wish for authenticity and the wish to belong.

I accompany you on the fascinating research journey of recognising your individual structures, talents and gifts, in order to develop, together with you, a system that can match your intensity.

03

Trauma-Sensitive Support

When the nervous system reacts faster than the mind can follow, this can lead to great confusion and inner resistance.

Especially when your own mind has so far been your greatest resource, both need attention, not just one of the two.

After traumatic experiences, we set out together to recalibrate and rebalance the relationship between body and mind, a relationship that is often ambivalent in gifted and highly gifted people to begin with.

In my practice, you can expect resource-oriented, body-based support that takes both seriously, without haste.

04

Sexuality & Intimacy

When intensity, pace, or the need for depth in closeness and desire don't match what is commonly considered "normal".

A topic that belongs to your individual map just as much as thinking and feeling do.

I treat sexuality and intimacy not as a side issue, but as a firm part of couple dynamics or your individual map.

I am currently deepening this perspective through my ongoing Sexocorporel training.

Starting Point

Giftedness is not an add-on here. It is the baseline.

Most counselling and therapy approaches were not developed for fast, multilayered information processing and above-average perceptual capacity.

This frequently leads to misjudgements: not because something is actually missing, but because the model does not fit.

In my practice, I work from the opposite direction: your way of thinking is not something to correct, but the raw material from which we shape a structure that carries you.

Fit

This approach is suitable in certain circumstances, but not in all. Both stated honestly.

  • A good fit if … standard frameworks have already noticeably fallen short for you, you prefer precise examination over a comfortable answer, and vagueness tends to bother you rather than reassure you.
  • Currently not the right fit if …

you need acute treatment for a diagnosed mental illness.

This practice currently operates as psychological counselling, not as psychotherapy in the legal sense.

Where needed, I will gladly refer you to appropriately licensed colleagues from my professional network.

The first step is yours. The next ones we take together.
