Psychological Counselling · Stuttgart

For people who think faster, feel more deeply – and rarely find a space that fits.

Decoding Trauma is a practice for gifted and highly gifted adults.
Not a place for quick answers. A place for precise questions and dialogue on equal footing.

You have probably already noticed that most counselling services either reach for answers that are too simple or explain too much – and rarely get to the actual core. In my counselling work, I try to avoid this and focus on clarity and depth. Together, we explore your individual map.

01

Couple Relationships

When closeness fails because of differences in thinking and processing speed and/or experienced emotional loneliness – not because of a lack of affection. Support for couples in which at least one partner is gifted or highly gifted.

My fundamental assumption is that every person is right exactly as they are. My aim is therefore not to change anything or anyone, but to create, together, a level of communication on which both partners feel seen and welcome.

02

Burnout & Exhaustion

When years of adapting to structures that never fit begin to demand their price. This is often recognised very late, because compensation worked well for a long time – until it no longer does.

In my experience, exhaustion in gifted and highly gifted people often originates in the enormous resources it takes to adapt the speed of a high-speed train to the rail network of a local tram. I accompany you on the fascinating research journey of recognising your individual structures, talents and gifts – in order to develop, from there, a system that can match your intensity.

03

Trauma-Sensitive Support

When the nervous system reacts faster than the mind can follow, this can lead to great confusion and inner resistance.

Especially when your own mind has so far been your greatest resource, both need attention – not just one of the two. After traumatic experiences, we set out together to recalibrate and rebalance the relationship between body and mind – a relationship that is often ambivalent in gifted and highly gifted people to begin with. In my practice, you can expect resource-oriented, body-based support that takes both seriously – without haste.

Starting Point

Giftedness is not an add-on here. It is the baseline.

Most counselling and therapy approaches were not developed for fast, multilayered information processing and above-average perceptual capacity. This frequently leads to misjudgements – not because something is actually missing, but because the model does not fit. In my practice, I work from the opposite direction: your way of thinking is not corrected, but taken as the starting material.

Fit

This approach is suitable in certain circumstances – but not in others. Both stated honestly.

  • A good fit if … standard frameworks have already palpably fallen short for you, you prefer precise examination over a comfortable answer, and vagueness tends to bother you rather than reassure you.
  • Not a good fit yet if … you need acute treatment for a diagnosed mental illness. This practice currently operates as psychological counselling, not as psychotherapy in the legal sense. Where needed, I will gladly refer you to appropriately licensed colleagues from my professional network.

The first step is a conversation. Not a sales pitch.
